Toy & Donation Guidelines
You and your group can help us by following our guidelines:
Please make sure that all donations are chosen from our online wish list for direct delivery to CHAM.
We care for children as young as a few days old to those who are 21. It is important that we consider the needs of all of our patients when donations are accepted. All toy donations will go into our gift inventory and be distributed by our staff for various celebrations, birthdays, holidays, end of treatments and successes while patients are receiving treatment. For the protection of our patient’s health, we reserve the right to restrict visitors from distributing toys on the units to improve infection prevention. We have created age-appropriate gift lists, which will assist you in selecting gifts to donate.

Holiday Donation Guidelines
Thank you for your support of our patients and families during the holiday season! We have streamlined our holiday donation process both for efficiency, infection prevention and limitation of visitors to the inpatient units during the holiday season when infection rates are going up. This holiday season we will continue to utilize online giving as our main source of toy collection. This streamlines our process of organizing the holiday celebration for our patients and allows our clinical staff to attend to patient needs. We will plan some festive activities for the children and our staff will deliver gifts to them in the safest way possible on Christmas Day.
We have opportunities for how you can support our patients having a wonderful holiday season by sharing this with your friends and families!! Please use this wish list of items which will be shipped directly to us for distribution by our staff. The attached flyer can be used by you to promote and support this campaign for our patients and families!

Other Ways To Contribute
We greatly appreciate the generosity of outside groups. There are other ways you and/or your organization can contribute to the Children’s Hospital at Montefiore. If you would like to make a specific donation. Please include the name of the fund in the comment section. These include:
Book Fund
We are always in need of books to replenish the supply we give out to patients. We can accept new or gently used books as well as monetary donations for buying books.
Bereavement Fund
The loss of a child is a devastating event. We accept donations toward support programming for these families including an annual memorial service, aftercare services, and memory making supplies.
Playroom Program Fund
Play is an important part of every child's life; it's essential to their growth and development. Play is also a tool for learning and can promote healing and a sense of mastery and coping during challenging life events. To promote more opportunities for play we have created a playroom assistant program hiring young adults from the community interested in pediatric healthcare. They provide play opportunities for our patients while we mentor them on a path toward a healthcare career.
General Fund
This fund is used to purchase all sorts of toys and supplies for the playroom and program services.
